Ahh...Yoga with Susan Takacs is fantastic. Susan is intuitive, kind, encouraging, and excellent at explaining every aspect of a yoga pose! From how you should be positioned, to how you should be feeling, and even to how far you should extend yourself. She knows by looking at how you move, what you need to focus on, with your yoga. She encourages you to push yourself without harm. Susan pays attention to everyone in her class and tweaks when she sees that someone may need a little help with poses (without embarrassing!)
I honestly didn't think I would enjoy yoga but I can say that I love the way I feel. Yoga, specifically Susan Takacs Yoga, has helped me immensely.
Do yourself a favour and sign up for one of Susan's Ahh...Yoga sessions.
As an aside I started yoga because I had an injury. Yes I had physiotherapy, osteotherapy, massage therapy, exercise homework, constant rehabilitation and yet there was something missing. Every time I went to my doctor for an assessment, to be cleared to return to work, I would be told that I just wasn't there yet. Then I started Susan's class. Even my doctor noticed the difference! I couldn't be happier! I credit Susan with getting me over that hurdle.
Whether you're brand new (like me), a seasoned yoga participant, or somewhere in-between, Ahh...Yoga with Susan Takacs is a must. Thank you Susan 🙏

Yoga has given me so much. I'm in my seventies now and my body is starting to slow down a bit with a few aches and pains, however, since I have started "chair yoga" with Sue, I feel more energetic, less achy, more flexible and my balance is better. Sue does constant research on ways in which she can help us through her yoga teachings. She's a true expert and always so caring as well as friendly. I'm taking chair yoga because of my knee surgeries which makes it hard for me to kneel. I was resistant to it at first, thinking I'm not a candidate, however, now that I'm taking this class, I am truly happy with it. It's harder than anyone might think and I'm always interested to see what new move Sue has in store for us. I also like the camaraderie in the class. Sometimes we have some good laughs which is also good for the soul. Also, we sometimes get to do a "chocolate meditation" which is superb!
Thanks so much for your expert yoga teachings, Susan!

“Susan’s classes are by far the best yoga I have ever encountered. She is so very knowledgeable and is very good at expressing this knowledge in her classes. Her classes are always interesting, challenging, and enjoyable. Her students present her with various physical challenges/needs and all are taken into account.
I started going to class at the onset of a chronic illness some years ago and she was so helpful and welcoming and went far above and beyond to help with my physical and spiritual path forward.
Susan’s classes are truly good for my mind, body and soul.
We all come to her from different places and she has a place for everyone! I can’t recommend her yoga enough.

Sue is a gifted yoga instructor. She skillfully guides participants through a therapeutic and spiritual practise, ever mindful of each person’s individual needs and potential limitations. Her classes are relaxing, yet she challenges participants to grow and stretch themselves both physically and mentally. Sue is welcoming and friendly, and her classes are a judgement free zone. ~Lana Brisson
I have been going to Susan's yoga classes for four years. Prior to attending Susan's classes I had sciatica and lower back pain for the previous ten years. Yoga has helped strengthen and relieve my back pain. In the last four years I I have only had minor back pain. I am sure this is a direct result of the yoga classes and the extra attention from Susan. Another result is that I am stronger and more flexible than before I started yoga. ~William Armstrong
I read all the testimonials and I wanted to add “ditto” to all of them. Of all the yoga instructors I have had over the years, Susan is by far my favourite. She has taught me so much about my mind and my body. I am stronger and more flexible that I have been in years. I understand my body much better. Each of her students are individuals to her, each one's needs specific. She invites and supports us in making the most from our practice, to push to our limits in that specific moment and do so safely. Susan is very welcoming and cares very much about everyone. Susan's enthusiasm and love of yoga is inspiring to all those students who are fortunate to have her as a teacher. One of Susan's strengths is her ability to concurrently guide and teach various levels. I would recommend the practice of yoga to anyone, at any age, especially if you have a caring teacher like Sue. “Namaste. Thank you for your practice today”, she says….~Carolyn Jackson
I first found yoga on PBS about 50 years ago a lovely, quietly spoken woman that over the months she taught me the basic & advanced poses. I have never been able to do head stands or hand stands but I was still able to accomplish quite a lot, but you cannot ask questions to a tv.
I have taken "mat" yoga classes since then & I do thoroughly enjoy it.
When I moved back to Cambridge my friend & I decided to try "chair" yoga, I went in quite concerned will I like the instructor, will she make me do things I'm totally out of shape to do. Within minutes of meeting Sue I knew she respected yoga & she stresses "if it's painful...STOP". Her class is fun & Sue is extremely knowledgeable. I have never had an instructor like her before & I plan on continuing with her classes for as long as my body is capable.
Just one other thing when I started her classes I couldn't walk down a flight of stairs without getting winded now I can go from my 4th floor apt to the ground floor with no problem......thanks Sue

I have been doing yoga on and off for 40 years in different venues, provinces and at different holiday locations and studios.
In that time I have had 2 favourite yoga instructors, Susan Takacs is one of them.
Susan's yoga classes focus on the complete mind ,body, spirit integration.
Each one of her students are individuals to her, each one's needs specific.
Susan takes into account any physical limitations that we come to class with and supports us in making the most from our practice, to increase our range of motion and do so safely. Each class she reminds us to listen to what our body needs on that particular day and offers choices for variations on asanas , depending on the body's need for a challenge or not ;for instance cactus arms instead of arms over head in tree pose.
Susan addresses our minds and the" business" of them , at the start through to the end of each class. Her gentle reminders and teaching of the "breath" and it importance in yoga, guide us to being in our bodies with awareness and out of the chatter of our minds.
Susan also introduces the spiritual aspect of yoga , always respectful of her classes' own spiritual ( religious) beliefs. For instance she shared with us the meaning of "OM" and suggested that if anyone was uncomfortable with the chant to remain silent or to say a similar word ( home for instance) that would resonate with them and still have benefits.
Susan in my perception, is honest, sincere and respectful. She embodies yoga in her daily life and that comes across in her interactions with me as her student.
For this reason I have followed her to three different venues to be able to have her guidance in my yoga practice !

I just wanted to comment on the instruction you provided this summer at the TWL Center.
Upon enrolling I was very skeptical as I have never tried Yoga before and I am physically limited in movement due to a spinal injury and arthritis in most of my joints.
With your patient guidance and encouragement I managed to accomplish stretches I didn't think I could do. The breathing technique you shared allowed me even greater results not just physically but mentally. You have the ability to calm ones mind and body. I have never felt such peace as I did at the end of each of your classes.
I would like to thank you for your support and respect and feel truly grateful to have the opportunity to practice under such a skilled , accomplished teacher. I look forward to the next session.~Sandra Kerr
I've been in Susan's class for only 9 months but am looking forward to having her as my yoga teacher for many years to come. She made me feel very welcome and at ease in my very first class with her.
What I love about Susan is she always caters to one's needs and is genuinely concerned about their wellbeing. I've been suffering with a bad back since I was in my teens and had resigned to the fact that I had to live with the pain for the rest of my life but yoga has changed that and I feel so blessed to have Susan as my instructor.
Susan makes the class fun and lively and she is very knowledgeable about the teachings of yoga. You can feel her passion of yoga when you are in her class. She is an awesome yogi and I'm so happy to have this wonderful lady in my life as my yoga instructor.
THANK YOU SUSAN........ YOU ROCK!!!! ~Shernaz Hunter

I was introduced to yoga in 1970. Yoga has since become an integral part of my life by creating a sense of awareness, balance and wellness. Over the years I have worked with many different yoga teachers, of which Susan Takacs is one of the best.
Susan creates a warm and welcoming environment within her class that relaxes all who participate. One of Susan's strengths is her ability to concurrently guide and teach various levels; beginners, seniors and experienced students. Susan affords her students the opportunity to develop an awareness of self which is essential to achieve a fluidity of movement, the language of yoga. Susan develops a knowledge of her students' individual abilities and provides the guidance specific to their unique needs. Susan is adept at educating students in the correct body posture and movement techniques that ensure their physical safety and does it all in a supportive manner. Susan's enthusiasm and love of yoga is inspiring to all those students who are fortunate to have her as a teacher.
I admire Susan as a yoga teacher and a person. ~Gloria Grant
I started chair yoga with Susan a few months ago. She gives us a real challenge with various stretches as well as breathing exercises. I have discovered that my breathing has improved and my balance is becoming more stable.
Susan helps you when you need it and watches for safe movement throughout the stretches. I believe that yoga has benefited me. Susan is also good at helping you to relax at the end of the class when we focus on awareness. I now participate in Susan’s yoga class twice a week. ~Herman Gonzalas
I would highly recommend Ahh...Yoga. Susan Takacs is an excellent instructor. She is passionate about yoga and is extremely knowledgeable in her field. She takes time to know her students' individual needs and adapts her instructions so that each student works at an appropriate and safe level. At the same time, she broadens the students' skills and encourages them to improve. The lessons follow a pattern but are not repetitious and there is a new challenge each week. Susan is friendly and has a great sense of humour. I always come away from class refreshed and feeling as though I have accomplished something. ~Krista Lee Murray
I started yoga for the first time about two months ago. I have always been interested in high impact exercise, but to my surprise have found yoga with Sue to be something I really look forward to every week.
Sue is a compassionate instructor whose focus is on the individual needs of each of her students. Sue is meticulous about ensuring that everyone works within her range of comfort. She is gentle and reassuring in her approach. I plan to make yoga a part of my exercise regime from now on. It is Sue who can take credit for that. She has made me an enthusiastic devotee.~Patricia Kittelsen

I came to your class on Monday feeling totally frustrated, depressed and I was suffering from pain in my shoulder which has bothered me for weeks.
After my class with you, I came home and felt like a great load had been lifted from me. For the first time in weeks my shoulder did not bother me while sleeping. I woke up feeling energized and pain free. Unbelievable.
Thank you so much! I love your classes and will continue for as long as I can. ~Gail Steckly

There are many good teachers in this world, but those teachers who touch us deeply, we remember forever. How should I describe my love for Susan’s teaching of “relax into the pose” and “welcome to your mat?" Susan’s voice is so calming for my brain that I once felt as though I was floating above the floor!
I have attended Susan’s classes feeling stressed out, grieving, tired, and sick with a cold. Through her classes, I have learned to deal with these things, feeling miraculously better afterwards. Every week I go with anticipation for an hour of non-judgment, peace, and tranquility for my body, mind and soul that Susan generously shares with her students.
“Namaste. Thank you for your practice today”, she says…. ~Ania Rosiak
Susan Takacs is yoga. I started classes with Susan two years ago. She is fantastic! She will happily increase a stretch, expand a move or modify (which for me is often) as needed. I feel so very comfortable in an atmosphere where I do the best I can along with a group of experienced, patient yogis. I look forward to my classes with Susan as I feel the benefits daily. Thank you Susan! -Chris

I drive from Dundas twice a week for my yoga classes in Cambridge. I do this because I can't imagine taking yoga from any other instructor than Sue Takacs. I just wanted to write down a few thoughts about the Yoga class that Susan instructs for us at the Region.
I am new to Yoga and was a little intimidated to start something new. Right from the beginning Susan was warm and welcoming. She has a quiet gentle way about her that puts you immediately at ease. I knew from the first class, that my lack of experience was not going to be a problem.
Susan starts each class checking in with us to see where each of us are at and, what type of class would be best for us. She gives very clear directions that are very easy to follow. With no previous yoga experience, I am able to follow, and feel confident in the poses that we do. Throughout the class Susan will give us alternate poses if we are having difficulties. Some of us have previous injuries that require a modification. I have noted a increase in my core strength, balance and a decrease in stress level since I have been attending Susan’s classes. I find myself looking forward to the class each week.
Thank you Susan. ~Gwyn McIntyre
I have been attending Susan Takacs yoga classes for over a year. I started out with very little range of movement in my shoulder and was hesitant as to whether or not this would work for me. Well, it`s amazing how much it has helped. I have improved motion and strength again & the pain is gone. I certainly attribute this to Susan's teachings. Her classes have been so beneficial to my well being. Yoga has made a real difference in my life & that is because I am very fortunate to have Susan for a teacher. She is very caring about all of her students and has taught me so much about my body & I so look forward to each & every class. ~Stella Barclay
Back in the mid-70’s as a young man I took up yoga, and really enjoyed it for a couple of years. Due to life changes I gave it up. After years of departure from yoga, I decided to go back to it (now in my late 60’s). I tried one studio, found they weren’t for me, so I tried another – same thing. After a few more, I gave up. I found that unless you’re able to keep up, you’re left with stiffness at the end of the class. There wasn’t proper guidance. One day I saw an interview with a woman who was 96 years young who taught yoga. She said she didn’t start yoga until she was 66. That inspired me to try again. After making a number of calls to various studios to see if they offered a beginners or a more gentler yoga, I was told no, but I could work at my own pace and that there was no personal help. I was disappointed. One day I was looking through the Activities Guide from the local senior’s center. I saw just what I was looking for – Gentle Yoga. So I decided to enrol. Well, to my pleasant surprise, the yoga teacher, Susan Takacs took the time to ensure each student did the moves properly, and that we didn’t strain ourselves. Susan has a genuine interest in her students. I am happy to say that because of Susan, I have been to every Gentle Yoga class that she teaches at the center. I know I am in good hands and I’ll be well on my way to a much more limber body and a less stressful life. Keep up the good work Susan. ~George Kazanegra
I’ve been coming to Susan’s yoga class now for over a year and I love it!
When I started I knew nothing about yoga but wanted to see what it was like. I admit I was a bit scared! Susan has been patient, informative, accommodating and reassuring .
Each yoga class I leave feeling so much better than I did before I started.
My balance and ability to do the moves has improved over the months and this is directly a result of Susan’s patience and ability to explain and show me exactly how things are supposed to be done. I really like how it’s ok not to be perfect at doing everything. I feel comfortable just going to my own level. I like how Susan breaks it down so you can go further if you wish, or stay at a level that’s just challenging enough. “It’s not a competition!”
Susan has a warm, friendly professional approach which I appreciate and can really work with! I do love your classes!
Thanks, Susan. ~Sharon Schnarr
Hespeler Village Neighbourhood Association (HVNA) had the pleasure of employing Susan Takacs as Yoga Instructor for a number of years. Susan’s passion, devotion and wealth of experience allowed for the HVNA Yoga Program to grow and see great success in the years under her leadership.

Her approach creates a welcoming environment to returning participants and new comers. ~Jessica Vandermey on behalf of the HVNA

I have taken Yoga with Susan a number of years and have found the classes instructive and relaxing. I have learned a great deal about how the body works along with the mind and spirit. Since suffering from sciatic nerve pain a couple of years ago, it has been a journey in regaining flexibility. I am still working on my flexibility but Yoga has helped me toward my goal. I am able to get dressed more easily than I did a year ago. Susan has helped me to work at my own level and to attend to my own needs. I look forward to future classes.
~Selma Webster
After being away from yoga for a few years I enrolled in Susan's Gently Yoga class at the suggestion of my physiotherapist. I had just undergone many surgeries on my knee and had ended up with an artificial knee. It just didn't work like the other one and I was afraid that I might do it some damage. I also had a lot of tightness in my old muscles. Susan is mindful of all her student's limitations and she has alternative poses when necessary. She has a gentle and calming manner and makes everyone comfortable. She is by far the best yoga teacher I have had.
A few weeks ago I came to class with a wrenched back and she knew exactly what stretches were necessary to give me relieve.
She is a wonder woman! I highly recommend her.
~Pauline Hoad, Cambridge, Ontario.
I joined yoga with Susan Takacs back in April. Let me tell you it;s the best thing I ever did. Sue is so wonderful. She is the whole package.. She will work with what level you may be at beginner or advanced. Sue will work with you if you have an injury. She will complement you and make you feel good. She just isn't a teacher she cares for your practice and is passionate about what she does. Sue also has the calming voice to go with yoga at relaxation time. I hope my positive experience and thoughts about this woman makes you want to be a yogi with her...Namaste ~Amanda Xamin
I have participated in yoga class at LaCosta, Canyon Ranch, and Calliente spas as well as in smaller group environments. None of the instructors spent as much time as Susan Takacs does to ensure that the poses being taught best suit the group involved; nor were they as watchful of each member during class. I have no hesitation in recommending her classes to anyone – young or old, fit or sadly out of shape, if they are interested in improving their well-being through the practice of Yoga. ~Dianne Jarvie
Susan Takacs had been my yoga instructor for many years and I enjoy being her student. She is very knowledgeable of yoga and has continued to study to upgrade her credentials, her familiarity and her awareness of yoga practices. She is definitely a very pleasant, caring and dedicated individual whom I would highly recommend. ~Gloria Majich
I am 46 years old and have just begun to practice yoga for the first time. I am very thankful that I signed up with Susan as she has lead me through the basics of yoga in a very safe and easy to understand method. I was having lower back issues from attending another yoga class, but after taking Susan's class, my back is getting better and she has shown me how to safely work through each of the beginner poses. I'm enjoying her classes very much and look forward to every one! Thanks Susan! ~Julie Gingrich.
I have had 3 yoga classes with Susan and consider her an excellent teacher. She tailors her classes to the abilities of those in the classes and is very understanding of our varying abilities. I always feel better after a class, although I have never been sore from overdoing. Because of my poor posture, I always leave class 2 inches taller than when I came.
I would recommend Susan as a yoga teacher to anyone interested in the benefits of the discipline. ~Jo Murphie
Susan is a wonderful teacher. I had no prior experiences with yoga, and unsure of what I could do. Susan has been so patient and encouraging that I leave class feeling a great sense of accomplishment. Thank you Susan! ~Denise Lo

Hi Susan
I just wanted to tell you again how much I enjoy Friday morning yoga. It is such a great way to destress and energize before the weekend. Occasionally I find that a pose I struggle with suddenly becomes easier or a stretch feels really good and I am happy to be part of your class.
Thankyou. ~Marlyn Hurnanen
Hi Susan,
I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed your classes. I have seen vast improvements in my flexibility and strength. More importantly I have felt that my stress levels have decreased and that my life feels more balanced. I appreciated how you would touch base with your students and made personal modifications so we each felt successful. You have been a great resource, and guide for my yoga journey. I hope that our paths will cross again. I wish you all the very best.
Cheers, ~Lee-Anne Wilson
Thanks for your classes, Susan! You really take the time to give each and every student personal attention. Whenever I walk into your class I always feel so welcome and comfortable. You seem to care about each and every one of as if we were a member of your own family. You always help me find the appropriate modifications so that I can take part in the whole class at my own level. Thank you Susan for making yoga available to me. Marie-Josée Thibideau
A fun and exciting way to learn to relax and stretch. Susan is very thorough teacher, leading the positions with confidence and poise, stressing the importance of safe stretching. Her encouragement and wise words of wisdom help for me to work and stretch to get all the benefits of yoga.
Namaste, ~Jen Uebele
I have had the pleasure of being a student in Susan’s yoga class for the last two years.
I had not taken yoga in the past so was very new to learning the moves. I am also 57 years old, so, was afraid that perhaps I could not handle it.
Susan is a fantastic instructor. She works with a class but allows everyone to work only at their level. You are never under pressure that you have to be as good as someone else.
What I have found with yoga is so much more flexibility and such improvement in my back and my hips.
I fell in love with how great I feel at the end of class and continue to do yoga at home between classes.
My feeling is that yoga is a journey and a life long journey. Having an informed, gentle but very knowledgeable guide as Susan on this journey makes it a pleasure to continue. ~Gwen Freeman
Susan's teaching technique encourages you to work harder but at the same time respect your limits. Each class is different thus keeping you interested and learning, but best of all is her gentle way of reminding you that yoga is a personal journey, not to judge yourself but enjoy that moment in time, relax, unwind and discover your inter peace. It has worked for me! ~Joyce Bruder
Practicing yoga for the past year has been very rewarding physically, mentally and spiritually. To me the key component has been having a very caring & knowledgeable instructor. In my case that is Susan Takacs. Students in Susan’s classes get her personal attention ensuring their physical needs or limitations are addressed. At times, she has even gone above and beyond the yoga class and researched information to offer helpful ideas.
Thank you Susan for sharing the peace within you.
With Kind Regards, ~Kerry Nicholson
I have thoroughly enjoyed my yoga lessons with Susan . She is very pleasant, attentive and excellent at explaining and demonstrating postures-ensuring I was doing them correctly. As I am hard of hearing (even with my hearing aids) Susan accommodated my needs discreetly and professionally. Thank You Susan-you are an excellent teacher. ~Myra Klaassen

Back of a serious accident,(I broke my foot), I decided to take up yoga. Susan is the first yoga teacher that has understood that I have health issues that I need to be careful with. Her classes are fun and informative. I am in a beginner class which feels safe for me at this time but I find that I am receiving maximum benefits. There are many yoga teachers but what matters most to me, as a senior with health issues, is that I trust her and most importantly, she also trusts me to know what I can do. The classes that I have taken with Susan have helped me beyond what I had hoped for. ~Anne Fougere

I have been going to Susan's yoga classes for four years. Prior to attending Susan's classes I had siatica and lower back pain for the previous ten years. Yoga has helped strengthen and relieve my back pain. In the last four years I I have only had minor back pain. I am sure this is a direct result of the yoga classes and the extra attention from Susan. Another result is that I am stronger and more flexible than before I started yoga. ~William Armstrong
How I wish I had started yoga years ago.
Sue is a true teacher. She is patient, helpful, encouraging and doesn’t push her students beyond their comfort zone. I would recommend the practice of yoga to anyone, at any age, especially if you have a caring teacher like Sue.

Sue
I came to your class on Monday feeling totally frustrated, depressed and I was suffering from pain in my shoulder which has bothered me for weeks.
After my class with you, I came home and felt like a great load had been lifted from me. For the first time in weeks my shoulder did not bother me while sleeping. I woke up feeling energized and pain free. Unbelievable.
Thank you so much! I love your classes and will continue for as long as I can. ~Gail Steckly
Just one other thing when I started her classes I couldn't walk down a flight of stairs without getting winded now I can go from my 4th floor apt to the ground floor with no problem......thanks Sue. ~Sue Keech

Her classes are a perfect blend of inspiration, motivation and fun! Her awareness of her students is ever present. She ensures that each individual is progressing safely and offers modifications when they are needed. Thank you Sue for opening my mind, body and soul to the wonderful practice of yoga !~Sue Allum Dundas , Ontario.

“Susan is an incredibly gifted teacher. She creates a relaxed and nurturing environment in which to learn, while encouraging students to practice yoga according to their individual needs and abilities. Susan’s devotion to yoga is evident in her teaching as well as her compassionate interactions with her students. She is an inspiration.” ~Natalia Antunes
